any times, lax officials learn their game management by officiating other sports. Once you determine a feel for the game of athletic competition, it is like riding a bicycle. It doesn't matter what type of bike you ride; after you learn to balance, steer, and brake, any bike will do.

But when it comes to the rules of the lax, it takes years to become comfortable. Lacrosse has more rules and combinations of rules than most any other game played today. It is that principle of attention to detail that will determine the success or failure of an official. To become accepted by coaches, officials must have knowledge of the game and consistency of judgment.

Penalty enforcement

Let's look at penalty enforcement. You are the lead official down by the goal line extended, and you see the trail official throw a flag as the ball is carried across the restraining line. What should you be thinking about?
