Eye of the Tiger - lead official

hile the Trail Official is getting ready to light the fuse with the center middies, the Lead Official is positioning himself on his side of the field at the corner where the restraining and wing lines meet. The Lead's primary responsibility during the face-off is to watch for premature start of play by any of the wing players and those along both restraining lines. That is a big area, but it is easily manageable by an official with a keen eye.

Bodies and sticks need to be behind the lines. If some of you guys are allowing them to lean on their sticks placed on the line, you are subsidizing "cheating". The Trail Official will look to you to give him the ready signal before he tells the center middies to get down.
