Alien vs Predator

I once knew three kids. They played on the same midfield line for the same team. All came from great families. They were terrific role models. One kid's dad was a TV broadcaster for the Philadelphia sports franchises, another a computer geek, and a third was a Fortune 500 senior executive. They all excelled at sports. They were all respected in their community.

One of them routinely went to Mexico with his church in the summer to build houses in Tijuana. One even starred in the leading role of Josh in Bang Bang You're Dead, a syndicated production about school violence. There were also several cameos in the movie Beautiful Mind with Russell Crowe.

But whatever civility they had was transformed into the Wild Bunch when they walked onto a lax field. The center middie won 93% of his face-offs that year. For you pros out there, you know that is unheard of at any level of play. What made those kids into natural born killers on the field? It was the challenge of the face-off. They loved it!
