he NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse championship final four is a great showcase for lacrosse. The event is held annually over Memorial Day weekend and is the one time college lacrosse is shown live nationwide. For officials, the final four is also a great opportunity to watch some of the nation’s best referees.

Crisp and Strong Mechanics

Think big when in the big time! The first thing I noticed is that the Final Four officials have strong basic mechanics. There were no “wet noodle” arms, and foul reporting was sharp. Noticeably, the refs did their signals high. The motions were above the shoulder area, unlike most refs who perform the movements lower.
