n a recent high school varsity/two-man game, my partner was the lead official on a fast break. As the trail referee, I was positioned near the midfield line and the special substitution area.
The offensive team took a shot; I saw out of the corner of my eye. The lead official was about 15-yards diagonally from the goal. The ball popped away from the goal area. There was hooting a hollering from the offensive team. They were adamant there should be a goal credited.
